From a Cemetery to a Hill

Hello my crunchy leaves,
This is my first weekend in London at the Primrose Hill apartment. I have been living in a small Jewish cemetery in Portland for the last couple of years, so this is quite a change for me. The apartment is very nice and has a good feeling to it, especially with the natural light streaming in from the (four!) skylights. It’s a bit… louder than I’m used to, both inside and outside. I wish there was more insulation between floors so I didn’t hear my neighbors below me so clearly.
We probably say this every year, but I can’t believe it’s almost October. I’m looking forward to the fall season, including Halloween. I haven’t seen any decorations for Halloween (yet?), but I’m going to decorate my apartment. I will share photos with you. I’m not sure if I have the shoes that I’ll need for the season, but I’ll find out quickly enough.
This weekend, I have a lot of things to set up in the apartment (toiletry organizer, standing clothes rack, additional computer monitor, etc.) and a script to read. I will need to get food at some point. I may pop over to a bookstore to browse, or go to a museum. Since I have deliveries coming tomorrow as well as today, I’m not sure when I’ll do that. The delivery person mentioned that they have to give packages directly to the person now or else it is sent back.
I hope this month is finding you happy, and if not, that is okay. I’m struggling a bit. I miss my people and their hugs. Let’s try to find the little joys during the day, like checking something off of our to do lists and seeing the moon peek through the clouds. I’m wishing you all my best for the rest of September.
Till next time,
Your American WereMack in London
